Julie E. Shaw

Julie E. Shaw received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Toledo School of Law in 1983. Before entering private practice, Julie worked for Roadway Express heading the company's Western Division safety and workers' compensation program. In 1987, she joined Heggeness & Sweet, a San Diego-based workers' compensation defense firm where she became partner in 1991.

In 1996, she opened her own law firm specializing in workers' compensation defense and civil litigation. The firm represented numerous self-insured employers and insurance carriers for over 11 years. In 2007, the firm merged with another San Diego-based workers' compensation defense firm where Julie was also a partner.

In 2009, Julie took a work sabbatical to live in Guatemala where she traveled throughout Central America. She then relocated to Washington, D.C. On her return to San Diego, she joined the Law Offices of Scott O'Mara in September 2010.
